Job description
As an Active Outdoors Assistant, you’ll be helping all kinds of people to enjoy outdoor activities on offer. You’ll really care about giving great customer service, and will be keen to talk to people, share your knowledge, give them information and answer their questions. You'll be part of the Active Base Team at Low Wray Campsite delivering our bike hire and boat hire activities. Along with hiring out equipment, providing basic water safety instruction and advice on local cycle routes you will also be responsible for maintenance and security of the equipment.
There may be times when help is required with campsite duties as part of the larger site team, but f ull training will be provided.
Contract: Fixed term contract until September 2023
Hours: Part time, 16 per week
Salary: £10.78 per hour
What it's like to work here:Low Wray campsite has direct access to Windermere lakeshore and based in the centre of the Lake District, it’s in the perfect location to our fantastic walks and tourist attractions. It has all the amenities our campers will need, plus a few added extras such as a wood-fired pizza trailer and boat hire.
What you'll be doing:As an Active Outdoors Assistant you will have a passion for delivering great active experiences in the outdoors. You'll be instrumental in supporting the outdoor activity offer at your property, helping as many people as possible engage with the outdoors and enjoy our beautiful places. Combining your excellent customer service skills with knowledge and ability to instruct others in safe activity, you will help our visitors access our Active Outdoors offers as well as ensuring that equipment is maintained and stored appropriately.
There will be a variety of duties which range from welcoming and engaging with visitors, providing great information about the property and the activities on offer, setting up of equipment, measuring participation and generally supporting the property to enable its Active Outdoors offer to be the best visitor experience it can be.
