The Role
We are looking for a creative and strategic leader to drive the continued growth of Condé Nast Entertainment’s leading digital video and audio business, a primary function in our evolution into a 21st century world class entertainment company. As Acting Director, Programming, Development & Creative Production, Digital Video, British Vogue you will manage one of Condé Nast’s most iconic brands. You will oversee and maintain a digital video IP portfolio and content strategy focused on English language content for UK audiences, with ambition for global appeal. This role is based in London and reports to the VP, Digital Video Programming and Development, Vogue (English Language), based in New York. The purpose of this role is to operate a programming and development team to drive audience growth and engagement with a focus on commercial revenue, delivering on Condé Nast’s preeminent portfolio of brands in the forms of:
  • Original video content for global digital platforms (e.g. O&O, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Apple iTunes, Spotify), with focus on premium, scalable quality
  • Live cultural events
  • Syndicated series for local markets and OTT channels around the world
  • Video franchises that transcend platforms and markets
  • Collaborating with operational partners in quality execution of our video content

What will you be doing?
  • Create and execute an innovative cross-platform video programming strategy for the British Vogue audience that delivers on the brand’s iconic attributes.
  • Drive premium storytelling development and execution, bringing fresh perspective to both the content itself and the people, processes and workflows behind it.
  • Partner with cross-department to establish workflows that deliver quality and exceptional storytelling, consistent communication, swift decision making, efficient budgeting, scheduling and deadline enforcement.
  • Collaborate continuously with CNE digital video strategy partners, brand editorial, and audience development to engage existing fans and appeal to new viewers and advertisers.
  • Partner with CNE Marketing and Branded Entertainment teams on programming plan reviews and creative collaboration, with the goal of ensuring all seasonal commercial packages and branded extensions of major editorial initiatives fall in brand guidelines.
  • Partner with the brand editorial and creative teams to establish annual editorial calendars.
  • Ideate new social video series for TikTok and Instagram.
  • Be eager about developing platforms and the creative opportunities they offer British Vogue for expansion.
  • Overseeing and supporting on production, creative direction and editing feedback.
  • Collaborate with operational partners on execution of content.
  • Partner in identifying Directors, DP’s and other skilled crew members to participate in our productions.
  • Leading ideation around talent and new pilots.
  • Run brainstorms around our core series and have the ability to match talent to series.
  • Liaise with talent representatives to pitch concepts and secure bookings.
Who you are:
  • 5+ years experience in the digital media space as a professional and capable leader with inclusive style that garners respect and trust across stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to balance the creative and the business of digital media while maintaining great relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of internet culture and digital video landscape (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok), the unique elements of each video platform and what makes particular videos successful on those platforms.
  • Excellent track record growing audience, overseeing creative execution, developing brand appropriate programming while achieving sustained digital and critical success.
  • Proven ability to operate, balancing long-term value with near-term business goals.
  • Entrepreneurial, strategic and holistic mindset, eagerness to learn and build, and a reputation as an innovative, adaptable and proactive “doer” with desire to differentiate Condé Nast from competitors.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage heavy workload, prioritise appropriately, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) with an emotionally intelligent communication style.
  • Successful experience navigating matrixed organisations.
  • Familiarity with the brands and businesses of Condé Nast.
  • A team leader who is able to facilitate brainstorms, run a team, and produce impactful results.
Where will you be?
  • We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in our iconic Vogue House building, situated in the heart of Mayfair. This is where our award-winning Editorial and Content teams sit.
