Job description

A new opportunity has arisen for an Account Receivable Exec to join our Shared Services team.

The SSC department is responsible for safeguarding and controlling the company’s assets, ensuring processes and controls are in place to protect profit and assets. We take responsibility for accurately recording and minimising the company’s liabilities, preparation of accurate and timely financial information and ensuring that the Agency adheres to all relevant financial legislation and legal responsibilities.


Part of the Department’s remit is also to train, support and encourage other departments in their understanding and acknowledgement of financial matters and to ensure that the correct procedures are followed.

The expectation is for 2 days a week in the office

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
  • Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the Head of SSC
  • Proactively chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
  • Regular meetings with Agency Finance to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
  • Ensure that all transactions are compliant with HMRC regulations
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries
  • Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
  • Generate sales invoices and post to ledger
  • Post payments to accounts and allocate as required
  • Undertake account reconciliations as required
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
  • Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
  • Other duties as delegated from time to time by the Head of SSC
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients
  • Maintain shared mailboxes for multiple legal entities

Qualities

  • 1-2 years proven AR experience
  • SSC experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Can think outside the box
  • Fast learner and flexible
  • Can work under pressure and at pace
  • Credit qualified preferably
  • Good Excel skills
