About the Team
The Billing and Collections Team at College Board is a close knit, dedicated team of 14 people committed to providing exceptional customer support for billing, collections, payment, and exceptions processing to support both consumer and institutional products/services. This team owns the electronic payment relationships of College Board, the Ecommerce platform, and is responsible for PCI compliance for credit card payments. This team is responsible for over $1 billion in revenue.
About the Opportunity
The Billing Team is insourcing the PSAT exam transactional invoicing from a vendor, and as the new Accounts Receivable Specialist you will handle the net new work for the team. As the Accounts Receivable Specialist for PSAT, you will work closely with other team members who handle the invoicing for our other exam products, such as Advanced Placement and SAT School Day, to ensure the invoices are sent out accurately and on time to allow for the expedited receipt of cash.
In this role, you will:
Support PSAT Invoicing (50%):
- Work with the PSAT program operations staff to incorporate the PSAT transactional invoicing schedule into the Billing team’s overall schedule, with helping to resolve potential conflicts of proposed dates.
- Monitor and validate invoicing as the invoices are interfaced into the Workday ERP system from the source SSOR PSAT exam ordering system.
- Create manual invoices in Workday for PSAT transactional invoices that could not flow through the automated interface.
- Compile potential balance adjustments and write offs for review and approval by the PSAT program operations staff.
- Review and approve overpayment refunds proposed by the Payments team associated with PSAT transactional payment receipts.
- Provide management with invoicing and collection statistics as requested.
- Complete financial audit requests associated with PSAT transactional invoicing.
Conduct Outreach (40%):
- Perform collections outreach for PSAT transactional open balances, with coordinating the automated email reminders and performing direct outreach to school contacts.
- Proactively communicate with management on trends/ activity /challenges daily for assigned areas.
- Handle customer inquiries regarding PSAT transactional invoicing.
- Work with PSAT program operations staff to resolve customer disputes, which may result in entering billing adjustments into Workday.
Provide Team Support (10%):
- Work with other Billing team members to better distribute work between the team members when a billing area is seeing peak volumes. This may either be assisting other team members for their invoicing areas or seeking assistance from them for the PSAT transactional invoicing.
About You
You have:
- An Associate’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable (preferred)
- Experience with Workday ERP – Customer Accounts module (preferred)
- Working knowledge of accounting concepts (debits and credits)
- Experience processing customer payments and refunds
- Substantive experience with performing accurate and efficient data analysis in MS Excel. Must have knowledge of Pivot tables, and formulas
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving and analytical skills
- The ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
- Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to remain on task
- The ability to be creative and self-disciplined when identifying and completing critical tasks independently
- The ability to act with a sense of urgency
- The ability to travel to in-office events 4-6 times a year

The salary offer of an individual candidate within this range is specific to their location and qualifications.
