Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper

Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper Maidstone, England

VCS Accountancy Ltd
Full Time Maidstone, England 18000 - 24000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

About the role

We are recruiting for a bookkeeper to work in our bookkeeping team on a full time or part time basis. Prior experience in a similar role and/or qualifications in bookkeeping or accountancy is preferred, although this is not a must if you are quick to learn and good with numbers.

We are looking to recruit someone who has excellent attention to detail, is highly organised, responsive and motivated to perform to a high standard. Salary is dependent on experience and level of qualifications to date.

Main duties will include:

  • Inputting sales and purchase invoices into bookkeeping software, predominantly Sage or Xero
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing query lists for clients
  • Liaising with clients via email, zoom or the phone
  • Downloading VAT returns from software to send to the team's manager for review

Full training will be provided in our systems and processes, so prior experience in certain software is not necessary. You will report directly to a manager who will provide training and be there to answer any questions you have.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a great variety of work, a flexible working environment and regular working from home opportunities. There is also availability for you to study the AAT qualification with us (if not already completed) under an apprenticeship scheme.

About us

We are a highly skilled Chartered Accountancy & Tax firm based outside Maidstone with a diverse mix of clients. We work with businesses of all sizes in all sectors, UHNW individuals and a small number of local clients.

We are passionate about supporting our employees both in and out of work so we encourage everyone to have a healthy work/life balance. The atmosphere at our firm is friendly, relaxed and informal and we work with all our employees to build an environment that benefits everyone. This includes flexible hours, a good mix of working from home and office days and an environment designed to encourage learning and training!

Please upload a copy of your CV, along with a brief description of why you would be a good fit for the role to the details provided.
