Apsley Farms

Apsley Farms is a family-run farming and energy production business based on the 1150-acre Apsley Farms estate, near Andover, Hampshire. About 900 acres of the site is arable land, mainly given over to growing rye, barley and maize crops. The rest of the site houses some of the UK’s most advanced facilities for producing biogas, sustainable electricity, food-grade carbon dioxide (co2) and renewable soil improvers.

The accounts team manages the finances of the farm partnership and all group subsidiary companies (Yelspa & Apsley Farms Sales) which combined have a turnover of over £20m.

The Role

We are looking for an accounts assistant to join our busy accounts team. The role will be varied, fast moving, cover many areas of accountancy within several different industries. The role will be suited to someone who has a few years of accountancy work experience and at least part qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification.

The primary focus of this role will be to manage the purchase ledger function but will also cross train on the sales ledger to be able to cover for staff holidays & absence. We are keen on hearing from candidates with experience of complete purchase ledger management from ordering, invoice processing, supplier communications through to payment runs.

The main responsibilities may include:

 Purchase invoice processing

 Purchase ordering

 Supplier communications, negotiations and reconciliations

 Preparation of supplier payment runs

 Sales invoicing, debtor chasing and online sales order reconciliations

 Bank reconciliations

 Weighbridge & deliveries management and reconciliations

 General finance work to assist other finance team members

 General administration tasks for the farm or office
