Accounts Assistant Peterborough, England
Job description
We’re looking to recruit a part-time Accounts Assistant to join the friendly team at our Head Office in Peterborough.
This role reports to the Finance Director and will involve carrying out the day-to-day accounts functions for one of our dealerships.
The duties of this role will include:
- Process paperwork, allocate payments, and answer queries
- Take care of purchase ledger duties, including liaising with suppliers and processing purchase invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Undertake sales ledger duties, including basic debt control and recovery, plus the processing and allocation of warranty credits and manufacturer bonus credits
- Other ad-hoc duties as required
The salary for this role is £23,000 per year pro-rata. The working hours are 8.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday (20 hours per week), however, we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements that work for both you and us.

Who We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who has experience working within an office environment. Specific experience dealing with sales and purchase ledges, as well as a basic understanding of accounting systems, would be beneficial, but is not a requirement as full training will be provided.
We’re looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and abilities:
- A competent computer user
- Excellent numeracy skills
- A confident telephone manner
- The ability to work as part of a team while also being able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Exceptional attention to detail
- A willingness to learn about new approaches and administrative practices
