Position Overview: We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The Accounts Assistant will provide support in various financial tasks, including bookkeeping, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of accounting principles, strong numerical skills, and the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail. The Accounts Assistant will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable:Process and record accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, expense claims, and payments.
Monitor accounts receivable, generate customer invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of monthly or periodic accounts payable/receivable reports.
General Bookkeeping and Data Entry:Maintain and update financial records, including journal entries, general ledger entries, and bank transactions.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data by performing regular reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation and recording of adjusting entries, accruals, and prepayments.
Record and reconcile employee expense reports and credit card statements.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and statements.
Financial Administration:Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
Support the finance team in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records and transactions.
Assist in the preparation of financial documents for audits and tax filings.
Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Financial Systems and Software:Utilize financial software and systems to record transactions and maintain financial records.
Assist in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems.
Collaborate with IT and finance teams to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
Provide training and support to end-users on financial systems and software.
Ad-Hoc Tasks and Support:Assist in special financial projects or initiatives as assigned by the finance team.
Support the finance team in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with other departments to gather and provide financial information as required.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in an accounting or finance support role is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data entry and accuracy in recording financial information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.

Salary: £18,404.21-£34,976.70 per year
