A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a trainee bookkeeper/accounts assistant to join our growing accountancy practice based in Abbots Leigh, Bristol. The team has over 50 years’ experience within practice, providing a full suite of accounting and business management support to an array of clients.
We are currently looking for a talented individual with a passion for numbers to join our bookkeeping department as a trainee, with the goal of becoming a fully proficient bookkeeper or going on to progress their career further within the company, as a trainee accountant.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their career in practice.
Typical duties will include:
- General bookkeeping duties - predominately using Xero, Dext and Excel
- Balancing accounts
- Processing invoices
- Bank reconciliations
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- GCSEs in Maths and English – or equivalent.
- Strong organisational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
Previous work experience as a bookkeeper/accounts assistance would be a bonus for this position, but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with flexible working arrangements, including a hybrid-role. The office doesn’t benefit from great transport links, however there is free on-site parking.

Salary: £16,500.00-£22,500.00 per year
