Job description
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Technician (Accounts Payable) will oversee/manage accounts payable and ensure vendors get paid for products and services rendered.
More specifically, his/her responsibilities will include:
· Verify invoice details are accurate (Billing name, address, dates, etc.)
· Enter invoices in the ERP system.
· Ensure invoice amounts, taxes are correct and recorded in proper GL accounts.
· Get invoices approved by appropriate managers.
· Ensure Invoice is paid within the billing terms (Check, EFT, credit card)
· Ensure compliance with the expenditure approval & purchasing processes.
· Contact suppliers to obtain missing invoices/information and for invoice corrections.
· Bank reconciliations (Reconcile our accounts by balancing our books with the bank statements)
· Monthly corporate credit card reconciliation
· Occasionally travel to deposit checks at different financial institutions
· Ad-hoc office administration request
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone with the following skills:
- Very good knowledge of French and English both written and oral.
- Proactive and likes taking initiatives.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- 3-5 years of experience in payables or similar tasks
- Accounting knowledge/training (DEP)
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Basic accounting knowledge and terminology
- Knowledge of accounting software, excel, word
