POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager for the Tin Building will support in the oversight of accounting for all venues: restaurants, F&B outlets, retail, events, and operations. This role will be responsible for providing consistent and accurate data and analytics in the accounting area; maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting; assisting in maintaining acceptable levels on internal controls; ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring that the established Standard Operating Procedures are being followed and safeguarding owners’ assets. The position is located at the Seaport District.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly oversee and or complete daily reconciliations for income audit.
- Responsible for keying of all month end journal entries and preparation of preliminary month end reporting.
- Variance analysis and research.
- Assist in facilitating the development of appropriate accounting systems and processes for the TIN Building businesses to include retail.
- Own the daily operations of the G/L and upload or provide all supporting documentation required for daily operational entry.
- Provide detailed expense reporting weekly and monthly to operators.
- Ensures compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, and contracts.
- Ensure accuracy of vendor invoicing, inventory product pricing and counts.
- Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise leadership in maintaining financial objectives.
- Timely review and reconcile key balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation for review.
- Assist in auditing and maintaining internal financial controls and segregations of duties.
- Responsible for overseeing and/or preparing various financial reports in accordance with established requirements, meeting the due dates and deadlines.
- Support the leadership team by assisting in preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports.
- Ensure proper application of accounting standards to inventory, deferred income, revenue recognition, accruals, and other GAAP financial standards
- Ability to manage expectations, processes, and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels and units.
- Ability to perform ad-hoc reporting as needed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Operate ethically to protect the assets and image of the company.
- Must be able to maintain a schedule availability flexible to the business demands.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
- Hospitality/Food and Beverage to include retail and multi-venues experience preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years related experience preferably a combination of corporate accounting with public accounting or equivalent work experience in hospitality/food and beverage industry.
- Accounting systems implementation experience highly desirable.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy of work preferred.
- Highly proficient with MS Office, MS Project, Outlook applications (Excel, Word, Power Point) and ability to learn new systems.
- Collaborative work style and ability to work effectively across departments.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess strong interpersonal, collaboration skills; must support and promote a culture of inclusiveness, respect, and a positive employee experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Pre-opening stage or technology transformation experience preferred.
- Experience in the areas of income audit, daily sales, cash management, and accounts payable desired.
- Experience or ability to automate or drive process efficiency desired.
- Must be passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to sit for prolong periods of time.
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
- Climbing steps regularly.
