NJR Recruitment are currently working in Partnership with a large Pension Administrators who are now in a position to hire a 'Pension Accounting Officer' to carry out a number of reporting functions to various regulatory bodies. It is extremely important that those applying for the role have an excellent attention to detail as you will be required to do a lot of precise administrative work and accuracy and precision is imperative. You will work independently with support from your Team Leader and will liaise with other colleagues on a daily basis.
This is a permanent and stable opportunity within a long-established business. The role is office based.
Your Functions Will Include
o Completion and submission of Pension Scheme Returns to HMRC
o Completion of Event Reports to HMRC
o Completion of Accounting for Tax returns to HMRC
o Completion and submission of VAT returns to HMRC
o Completion and submission of SA970 Tax returns to HMRC
o Completion and submission of Returns to The Pensions Regulator
o Completion and submission of Returns to the Information Commissioner's Office
o Registration of pension schemes with The Pensions Regulator
o Registration of pension schemes with the Information Commissioner's Office
o Registration of pension schemes for a Legal Entity Identifier
o Renewing pension scheme Legal Entity Identifiers
o Liaising with regulatory bodies as and when required in a professional manner
o Maintaining payments of regulatory levies via direct debit, cheque and bank transfer
o Handling some scheme correspondence
o Liaising with IFAs, accountants and other business introducers regarding their clients
o Dealing with any enquiries by telephone, email, fax and in writing in a professional and efficient manner
o Updating the back-office systems with information and ensuring accuracy of all records and files
o Following procedures
o Reporting any operational risks to the Directors
Your Functions May Include
" Greeting clients when they visit the company premises
" Offering cover and support across other roles including filing, scanning documents, answering the telephone and general office duties
" Updating internal procedures and standard documents when required
" Performing other administrative tasks which arise, and any other work as requested by the Directors
Your role is administrative in nature and involves the day-to-day oversight of pension schemes. You will need excellent numerical skills to ensure accurate data is maintained and submitted. Maintaining accurate records is imperative. You will also be expected to be computer literate in order to use computerised and online systems. You will also answer enquiries via the telephone, fax, in writing and by email. It will be a part of your job to liaise with other organisations to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory aspects of pension administration. You may be required to attend external presentations in order to keep up to date with pension and industry legislation if so required.
