Accountant

The Valiant Group is a growing commercial equipment leasing, mortgage, and private equity group of companies. that is seeking a fulltime accountant for day to day accounting. Our company is constantly evaluating markets while striving for growth. In this role you will be exposed to all facets of our business.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide general accounting support to the Financial Controller by entering data to G/L, obtaining information to supplement financial statements and review financial information; Conduct balance sheet, variance and income statement analysis;
• Supplement support in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll and tax remittance processes;
• Conduct accounting activities pertaining to monthly, quarterly and year-end closing schedules
• Prepare working papers such as support and reconciliation schedules for financial statements, internally and externally as required;
• Cost benefit analysis pertaining to investments
• Tax planning
• Other projects and activities as directed by management.

Desired skills and experience:

• Accounting degree / diploma would enhance learning
• Financial Statement experience, US GAAP an asset but not required
• Detail oriented
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities and constant change
• Ability to allocate time effectively and manage tight deadlines
• Multi-tasker who can thrive in an independent environment

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
