Job description
Performs diverse administrative, accounting, and budgetary tasks following established standards.
Ability to perform duties under stress dealing with language barriers and government regulations with patience and professionalism. Coordinate documentation and time line for invoicing and collection of financial aid/scholarship and waiver programs. Facilitate posting of funds, both domestic and international, with accounting division through account research and identification of funds received electronically. Perform routine audit and reconciliation of accounts for financial aid, scholarship, 3rd party billing and waiver recipients. Must employ excellent customer service skills to all customers by receiving payments, issuing receipts, and providing a wide variety of information, including policies and procedures of financial aid disbursement, scholarship, waiver and 3rd party billing. Assist with the phone queue during periods of heavy phone traffic. Receive office visitors directed to Third Party Billing & Scholarships for account research and explanations. Research, collect and analyze information and respond to student account receivable inquiries for financial aid, scholarship, waiver and 3rd party sponsors and/or their students. Answer complaints for internal and external customers. Handle cash and other valuables as well as performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND:
Experience:
- 12 months accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- General office skills such as multiline phone, copying, filing, faxing, and mail.
- Customer Service skills.
- Knowledge of standard accounting principles and processes.
