About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Oldham on a full time, fixed term basis for 6 months.

Reporting into the Finance Partner, you will assist in the provision of a full management accounting service to support the achievement of the financial and operational targets for the business.

What we’re looking for

We’re a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You’ll not only be an experienced Assistant Accountant, but you’ll also have great customer service and analytical skills. You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Good working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience of producing financial and related information for budget holders.
  • Experience of month end financial processes including the production and review of journals.
  • Good understanding of internal financial controls.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Ability to analyse and manipulate data.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Good oral and written communications.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrate Guinness behaviours.

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Oracle Financials or an equivalent finance system.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Proven experience of managing projects.

Qualifications

    • Part qualified CCAB/CIMA accountant.
