Assistant Accountant
£28,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 5.30pm
As Assistant Accountant at Sage Homes, the largest provider of new affordable homes in England, you will work alongside our existing Rent Accounting team who are a key conduit between Sage's Finance function, our outgoing national housing management provider and our growing Income Recovery team during an exciting period of growth and transition as we move towards self-managing our portfolio of affordable rent homes.
We are looking for a talented AAT qualified/part qualified accountant to assist in the maintenance of the rent ledger and posting of rent journals as well as supporting the team in servicing the Rent email inbox, dealing with queries and processing housing benefit schedules. You will support the Rent Accountants in posting and reviewing Net Operating Income (NOI) P&L lines relating to rent and service charge income and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review.
The role is based in our Northampton Office.

About you
- Proactive with strong attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy
- Experience of maintaining rent ledgers and cashbooks preferred
- Property sector experience preferred, preferably gained within a Registered Provider
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Indepth working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
AAT qualified/part qualified CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent and keen to become fully qualified, study support is available.
