We are a well-funded, untraditional bio startup based in Redwood City. Our mission is to extend healthy human lifespan by 10 years. We believe the deeper, underlying causes of age-related diseases are the untreated mechanisms of aging itself.
We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated Junior Accountant who craves a challenge and feels energized to roll up their sleeves. You will work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You’ll be part and parcel with the Retro ops team, and while your primary responsibility will be to assist the Accounting Manager with the day to day functions within the Finance department, you will also work on various initiatives and special projects. You’ll be juggling multiple balls at once sometimes, but affirmatively within the constraints of a healthy, happy working environment.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Create and review expense reports in Expensify
- Process and pay invoices using Bill.com
- Assist the Accounting Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports
- Research and analyze accounting data to ensure conformity with GAAP
- Enforce compliance of proper accounting methods, policies and procedures
- Ensure timely filing of documents to regulatory agencies
You might thrive in this role if you:
- Have Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Have at least 2-5 years of related Accounting experience
- Are resourceful and can figure out how to solve unusual tasks
- You move fast and maintain a high level of attention to detail, organization, and follow-up
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana, and Slack preferred
- Familiar of GAAP and Quickbooks Online a strong plus
