Wage: $22.12 to $24.00 / hour

Hours: minimum 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekend work may be required based on business volume
Education: High School graduation or equivalent & post-secondary education in Accounting or related discipline preferred.
Language: English
Experience: 2 years to less than 5 years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping position

T&H Group Developments Limited is a construction and development company based in Nova Scotia, Canada. We are currently looking for a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate must have previous Accounting/Bookkeeping experience, be multi-lingual with Kurdish and Arabic languages preferred, be detail oriented and organized.
Duties:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Clerk will work cohesively with the Finance teamand be responsible for accounts receivables/payables and other accounting duties as delegated by the Corporate Controller.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and update accounting software including invoices, bills, accounts receivables/payables.
- Collaborate with team members and provide job costing information
- Set-up and maintain supplier and subcontractor accounts payables and receivables
- Allocate bills and supplier invoices to accurate job numbers for job costing
- Apply scheduled payments to appropriate supplier accounts
- Answer accounts receivable/payable phone calls and faxes; and reconcile supplier/subcontractor statements and receivable statements.
- Prepare journal entries, perform bank and credit card reconciliations, prepare the daily deposit for banking purposes, prepare the monthly entry for credit card payments
- Assist with preparation for audits as needed
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll
- Perform general ledger analysis and reconciliation
- Take occasional other office duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-5 years experience in an accounting role
- Demonstrated strong technical accounting skills
- Demonstrated computer skills including MS Excel and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and also part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to respond to customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and time-management skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic are preferred
