Meazure Learning was established when testing industry giants ProctorU and Yardstick joined forces in 2020. Meazure Learning is seeking to add a remote Sr. Managerr, AR & Revenue Accounting to the Finance Team!
The Sr. Manager, AR & Revenue Accounting has strong technical, strategic, and operational skills to lead our Meazure Learning revenue and AR accounting team. This key role is hands-on and will lead the order to cash processes, optimizing our month end close operations through programmatic automations. This role is responsible for collaborating with a team of cross-functional business partners to develop a deep understanding of the product to ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition while fostering operational excellence.
The Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Contracts, Sales Operations, FP&A, Product, and Marketing teams to support new product launches and ongoing business initiatives for our US and Canadian entities.
- Analyze new and existing contracts and features including design, performance obligations, and pricing, to provide accounting, risk management support, and ensure operational readiness.
- Streamline processes across billing, credit, and collections.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to provide accurate reporting of revenue, and prepare revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and disclosures
- Oversee month end and quarter end closing for accounts receivable
- Identify opportunities to enhance cash flow performance.
- Understand Meazure Learning revenue, and payout systems and partner with VP, Finance and Controller to maintain documentation, collaborating closely with cross functional teams to identify process gaps, develop, implement, and maintain controls.
- Coordinate external audit and internal review activities related to revenue recognition, credit, collections, and cash application.
- Ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with US GAAP and internal revenue recognition policies for new and existing ad products.
- Drive the month and quarter-end processes for the revenue team while supporting FP&A in building bookings and revenue forecasts
- Participate in special projects including acquisition integration and IT system implementations
- Coach and develop a team of accounting professionals.
The Desired Attributes:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in accounting, including leadership experience in revenue recognition and product accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Acquisition/Merger experience desired
- SaaS experience desired
- CPA strongly preferred
- Proven technical accounting background, with a working knowledge of ASC 606
- Understanding of complex products and related revenue accounting implications
- Proven business partnering and collaboration skills
- Experienced in communicating with audiences at multiple levels, experience distilling complex concepts into concise
- actionable conclusions
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
