What would you do? As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for the maintenance of external customer accounts and internal inventory management. In particular, you will be working with our billing systems to handle our accounts receivable through our AR platform. The ideal candidate for this position has a positive attitude, a tireless work ethic, an insatiable appetite for growth and a desire to help customers with their accounting needs.
What are the details?
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary role of this position will be providing financial administration and support to our Controller
Reviewing customer account statements/invoices and performing A/R sub-ledger account reconciliation
Processing monthly billings and filings
Follow up on overdue customer A/R and maintain cash collection cycle
Process customer payments (paper checks, EFT, ACH, wire, and credit card payments)
Smoothly running our AR solution and SAGE Intacct platform
Recording bank and credit card transactions and performing monthly bank reconciliations
Performing our monthly cash audit trial report reconciliations by reviewing bank statements, merchant details and POS records to ensure credit card payments match the deposits in the company bank account
Performing month end procedures
Filing monthly working papers
Processing daily purchase ordering from suppliers and work with our office coordinator for inventory tracking and control
What do you know?
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
Education and Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting/Finance
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Intermediate knowledge of Excel
Proficiency with SAGE Accounting (Intacct, 300) is a plus
Any accounting/finance designation/certificates are a plus
Working knowledge and understanding of billings cycles, inventory management, order processing
General Knowledge and Experience:
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Keen attention to detail
Quick learner
Good organization, time management, and prioritization
Efficient coaching and troubleshooting abilities
Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and listening
