What we're looking for:
We’re looking for someone who would like to further their career in Finance to join our team as a Trainee Accountant. You’ll be learning a number of key account processes within the department whilst studying to become a qualified accountant, so you’ll need to have a willingness to learn, develop and adapt to new ideas and circumstances. This is an ideal role for someone who is already working towards a recognised Accountancy qualification, but this is not essential.
You’ll need to be an organised person who can work under pressure and to deadlines, as you’ll be primarily focusing on the subsidiary accounts and financial reporting for the business. You'll also need to be someone who's a natural at cooperating with others as there’ll be times where you’ll be supporting the team. Knowledge of insurance accounting (CMC) is desirable but not but not essential.
Some of the things you'll get up to:
- Supporting the existing team with the basic tasks
- Overseeing the Tenant Verify and Landlord Zone accounts and monthly reporting
- Supporting the Assistant Accountant with management accounting processes
We'd like you to have:
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to learn new systems and processes as required
- Ability to find and implement solutions to problems
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated and ability to organise and check own work
- Diligent, discreet and professional
- Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Able to manage own work and operate as part of a small team
- Working knowledge of accounting principles is desirable
- Practical experience of handling client enquiries both face to face and by telephone is desirable
- Knowledge of on-line banking systems and procedures is desirable
