Semi Senior Accountant
Oxford - office based
£23,000 to £28,000 depending on experience
My Oxford based client is looking for a Semi Senior Accountant to join a team of ten, all at different stages and levels of qualifications
- To prepare and complete accurate financial statements and tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Correspond with clients as needed, via client meetings, video calls, telephone calls and emails
- Acting as a mentor for more junior staff, training/ supervising as necessary
- Contribute to financial performance of the Business Services Team in terms of budgets, target fees and chargeable time
- Update the database with business development opportunities
- Attend firm-wide business development and Marketing presentations and briefings, so must be able to travel
- Hold a Linkedin account and engage with company posts
The ideal Semi Senior will have the following qualifications/ skills:
- Level 4 AAT qualified
- Experience of preparing financial statements including limited company, sole trader and partnership accounts
- Be able to complete basic tax computations
- Have experience in using an accounts production package, cloud-based software and excel
- Previously worked in a client servicing environment
- Clear communication and be able to communicate complex information in an easy to understand manner to clients
- Team player
- GDPR awareness
- Generate solutions for clients
- Plans ahead and is organised in order to meet deadlines
- Able to build close working relationships with clients and proactively manage their expectations
- Ability to work closely with the Manager and to carry out several tasks, with minimum supervision and to deadline
- Ability to manage own workload effectively
- Work as part of a team being able to listen, absorb and digest information and build stable relationships
- Reliable, trustworthy, and approachable
- Ability to create ideas to improve processes
