We are seeking to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant, ideally with experience in Primary Care accounting, who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Financial Services Function, including:
- financial stewardship
- financial accounting
- invoice processing
- reconciliation of company and practice bank accounts including processing receipts and payments
- credit control
- preparation of payroll and pension submissions
- creation and analysis of financial and statistical reports
You will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (Chartered Accountant, ACCA or CIPFA), with demonstrable senior level experience in a complex finance function in either a primary care setting, in the NHS, or a large organisation.

As SPC is a subsidiary organisation of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT), this role will be based within the SPC Central Team and work closely with the SCFT Finance Department for specific requirements, peer support and supervision, and role development.

We are looking for a Senior Finance Accountant with:
- Qualified or part qualified Accountant (Chartered accountant, ACCA or CIPFA)
- Financial management experience, budget setting, monitoring and reporting
- Knowledge of primary care / private sector / companies accounting
- Experience of developing processes for delivery of high-quality financial information to Board and senior management level within an organisation
- Highly developed IT and analytical skills particularly in Excel and preferably building complex reports using Business Objects or other similar business intelligence reporting package
- Excellent communication skills and proven experience of managing successful relationships with peers and clients
- UK based (necessity)
