Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares and posts monthly journal entries into the SAP system ensuring timely, accurate and efficient recording and analysis of month-end and year-end transactions;
- Reconcile various balance sheet accounts to sub-systems (eg. Fixed assets, inventory, etc.) to minimize risk of undetected errors and potential losses to the company;
- Assist in the accounts payable process; investigate and resolve problematic issues;
- Assist with daily and monthly plant statistical production and inventory reports and cost accounting;
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger ensuring timely closure of capital projects and timely retirement of expired assets;
- Work with project managers and engineers to complete capital expenditure analysis and reporting;
- Assist with preparation of the annual operating budget;
- Assist with special projects, year-end activities and related duties;
- Participate in audits as required.
Internal Controls:
Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.
Successful incumbents will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from an accredited university;
- CPA candidate preferred;
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
- Ability to function effectively while meeting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows environment and have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Applications
- Familiarity with SAP systems preferred
