Intermediate Accountant
We are seeking someone who can support our accounting team, focused on activities related to our accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and accounting duties. This person is extremely organized and is a team player who enjoys supporting and helping the business to succeed. This person will be working with sensitive information and financial details, so there is an expected level of professionalism and discretion required.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
Accounts Payable:
- Managing AP email inboxes
- Pulling invoices from online vendors
- Sending invoices out for approval
- Posting approved AP invoices
- Preparing AP related payments (cheques, PAP, e-transfers, wires) to be sent for payment approval
- Filing AP invoices and payment remittances
- Answer AP related phone calls
- Credit Card expense reports
- Corporate credit reports
- Posting approved credit card expenses
- Filing Credit Card related expenses
Accounts Receivable:
- Managing AR Payments email inboxes
- Preparing invoices based on reassessments
- Tracking invoice details, determining payment methods for clients, and updating tracking sheets
- Preparing, and entering PAD client payments to be sent for approval
- Posting AR payments against invoices
- Collection emails and phone calls to clients in arrears
- Helping to maintain and setup payment plans for clients in arrears
- Answer inbound AR related phone calls
- Filing AR related items for permanent record keeping
Payroll:
· Processing bi-weekly payroll and submitting for approval
· Assisting with onboarding of new employees
· Maintaining payroll records
· Assisting with year-end payroll close
· Preparation of T4s
Accounting:
· Bank reconciliations
· Assisting with month end reconciliations
· Preparation and updating of working papers
· Assisting with year-end close and review
· Any various accounting related tasks required to support the Controller
Requirements:
- Self-motivated individuals who learn quickly and exhibit exceptional organization skills

- High performers with a proven track record of exceptional work
- Multi-taskers that can handle multiple ongoing projects and remain organized and timely
- Consistently demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experienced with documentation and detailed administrative work
- Prior experience with accounting/bookkeeping
- Strong computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Great phone demeanor with a pleasant attitude
- Ability to work full-time hours (with some work flexibility)
- Quick learner who can adapt to various situations and can learn on the fly
- Experience with direct-to-consumer collections an asset and the ability to handle difficult clients
Location: This role will be required to be in-office in our Port Moody office located at 2717 Murray St. Our office is large, newly renovated, and in a vibrant area located steps from Rocky Point, breweries, and restaurants.
