Job description
The Accountant is responsible for providing accounting and bookkeeping support to the Golf course operations and facilities. Performs internal cash and inventory auditing and reporting functions and is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
Function, Duties, Responsibilities
Performs full cycle daily accounting and bookkeeping. Maintain all general ledger accounts.
Coordinates all Golf Club membership paperwork, collects and processes membership dues, and performs monthly invoicing of member charges.
On a daily basis, manages all accounts receivables and accounts payables.
Prepare bank and credit card reconciliation monthly
Prepares reports and works with supervisors to reconcile discrepancies.
Collects and reviews all credit card receipts.
Maintains actuals and budgets on a monthly basis.
Provides support to the front desk operations, reservations, office supplies, and guest relations.
Performs Golf Pro Shop inventory audits.
Inspects and audits daily cash reports.
Assists with budget development and maintenance.
Performs capital audits inspecting large purchases across facilities and maintains capital inventory records.
Compliance and reporting government programs including GST, PST, WCB, EHT and payroll remittance, etc.
Performs other duties and special assignments as directed by the Director of Finance.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
Preferred Certifications: Any related accounting certifications
Experience:
A minimum of (2) two years of full cycle accounting experience.
Previous experience working in a Hospitality or Golf setting strongly preferred.
A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat
Must be able to meet deadlines as required
Trustworthy, flexible, and adaptably
Sage 50 an asset
Knowledge of Payroll rules and guidelines an asset
Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of: Accounting and auditing procedures; Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft and accounting applications; and principles of effective customer service.
The ability to successfully: analyze financial data; meet deadlines; work productively without supervision within established policies and procedures; provide superior customer service; manage multiple requests; and provide professional documents and complex reports under tight deadlines.

Salary: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
