Job description
We are an accountancy firm based on a quiet, office park in West Swindon. We have 12 staff and are looking to recruit an accountant with experience in practice.
The job entails:
- preparation of accounts for limited companies – particularly our more challenging sets of accounts. This will involve liaising with clients while preparing the accounts;
- being a Client Support Manager for a portfolio of clients. This means getting to know your clients as individuals and as businesses and being their main in-office contact;
- checking/preparing VAT returns for clients;
- possibly some preparation of income tax returns;
- advising/training clients on Xero;
- we give on-the-job training, as necessary, and support staff through professional exams if they show commitment;
- we expect our staff to be able to give standard tax/accountancy/bookkeeping advice – but this can develop over time.
We are looking for someone with several years’ experience in preparing accounts for small businesses (up to £7m turnover) and with excellent communication skills (both writing and verbally).
We are looking to grow as a business and we aim to constantly improve the service to our clients - so we need someone who is enthusiastic and a proper team player.

Part-time hours: 20-37 per week
Salary: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
