Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will include, but will not be limited to:
- Monitor and review project costs and performance, providing financial support and advice while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers. Ensure robust financial controls are in place
- Deliver accurate project reporting within required timelines, including CSR, PFM, trading plans, forecasts, and risk reviews
- Provide timely financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to Programme Managers and stakeholders. Manage cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices promptly
- Prepare inputs for Program Forecasting (ETC, EAC, and variances analysis) and review budgets, resource costs, work plans, and fee structures
- Offer valuable and reliable financial services to the project team and continuously improve processes to meet business financial control requirements
- Ensure compliance with financial governance requirements, including the financial control framework
- Handle internal and external reporting, including DefCARS reporting and inputs for quarterly reporting
The successful Accounts Assistant will require the following skills and experience:
- Working towards or qualified with a recognised finance qualification (ACMA, ACCA, or ACA) or qualified by experience
- Experience in project financial management within a CAM project setting, with knowledge of IFRS15 considered beneficial
- Familiarity with finance systems, preferably SAP, but not mandatory
- Skilled in managing internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating financial matters to non-financial personnel
- Some experience in business partnering, with strong communication and influencing skills across various organisational levels
- Possesses commercial acumen and can collaborate across different business functions
