Digital Communications Officer
We are looking for an experienced Hospital Relations Manager to join our growing team for our small charity. Ideally passionate to support our cause and make a difference for future families.
MAMA Academy is a national UK charity helping to prevent stillbirths by empowering expectant parents with safer pregnancy information and equips healthcare professional with various resources to help save babies lives. We also raise awareness of stillbirth prevention initiatives and present at various midwifery conferences across the country.
Requirements:
Location: Home-based, occasional on-site meetings at various hospitals across the UK
Hours of work: Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: c. £28,000 - £30,000 depending on experience + quarterly performance bonus
As a successful applicant, you will:
1. Be a confident self-starter with direct experience of sales success, ideally within the healthcare sphere, developing strong relationships, and connecting with people;
2. Be flexible in your approach to work;
3. Have experience of networking, building relationships and spotting opportunities for partnerships in a range of areas surrounding healthcare;
4. Have direct experience of meeting financial targets;
5. Be comfortable working alone as well as working in collaboration with colleagues as part of a team;
6. Be based at home and able to travel around the UK and attend a quarterly meeting in Surrey/ London
7. Be a confident speaker, presenting to customers, potential customers, other interested parties, donors, supporters and corporate partners;
8. (Ideally but not required) have access to a car and be a confident driver.
Job Purpose:
To be responsible for implementing MAMA Academy’s strategy for selling Wellbeing Wallets, Pregnancy Passports and other items into hospitals and other customer environments, and to recognise other potential resources to resolve the needs of healthcare professionals to increase revenue for the charity. To develop and manage a comprehensive customer database to ensure maximised and maintained customer relationships. To deliver agreed overall income and other targets, including but not limited to: wallet & passport sales, customer retention rates, conversion to passports where appropriate. To coordinate the distribution of wallets/ passports funded via Trusts and Foundations.
Main duties:
1. Work with the CEO to devise an annual operating plan detailing how financial and other (e.g. number of new customers, number of wallets, improved financial stability & efficiency, pricing) targets will be met.
2. Identify new customers for MAMA products and increase sales.
3. Work with the CEO to create an audit tool to gain feedback on how to improve most effective use of MAMA safer pregnancy products.
4. Work with the Social Media Officer to ensure appropriate publicity for MAMA Academy products, and to help raise awareness of our work.
5. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers and suppliers to ensure strong customer retention and repeat business rates, and a cost efficient supply chain.
6. Be responsible for delivering income and expenditure targets and reporting monthly on progress, this to include devising contingency plans should income fall behind target.
7. Maintain accurate sales data to facilitate effective analysis and provide regular forecasts and sales reports to CEO & Trustees as required.
8. Create comprehensive customer database to enable ongoing and active dialogue with relevant personnel within customer organisations.
9. Comply with MAMA Academy’s internal policies.
10. Undertake any other reasonable duties, and to attend a quarterly meeting (with overnight stay if geography requires it), at the charity’s head office in Surrey or in London.
