The Growth Company’s Business Growth Hub has an opportunity for an Account Manager to work with some of the fastest growing large companies across Greater Manchester at a strategic level to maximise their growth potential.
As an Account Manager you will be a trusted advisor to companies, co-ordinate available support and make connections to help Greater Manchester businesses grow and respond to their unique opportunities and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic relationships with a portfolio of companies and develop an understanding of their opportunities and challenges.
- You will provide a bespoke package of support that meets the clients needs which may include, business support, facilitation with local government, research, engaging with networks etc.
- Work with colleagues in the Growth Company to develop tailored packages of assistance to support business growth, examples of which include access to funding, training and development and accessing new markets.
- Manage and develop additional relationships with key stakeholders, for example: private sector partners, sector organisations and Local Authorities.
- Use business development skills to pro- actively engage with new accounts and build relationships.
- Undertake a business diagnosis, challenge the business where appropriate and produce an action plan to support their growth strategy.
- Maintain knowledge of the economic landscape in Greater Manchester and be awareness of it’s influences
- You will manage a portfolio of between 50-60 clients on an annual basis and will work with companies with over 250 employees or 43 million turnovers.

Requirements:
- Ability to identify and influence clients to consider new support services, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in strategic relationship management and proven business development ability.
- Experience in managing multiple stakeholders from both private and public sector.
- You will have strong commercial awareness and ideally knowledge of one or more of Greater Manchester priority sectors; Creative Digital and Tech, Advanced Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Energy and the Environment and Financial and Professional Services.
- Experience of working in a sales or similar targeted environment.
- Can demonstrate professionalism and a focus while providing continuous improvement to service delivery.
