Who We Are

We’re an award-winning speciality coffee roastery from Brighton. We explore coffees and create flavours that can be enjoyed and celebrated by everyone. We’ve been roasting coffee since 2006 and proudly sell our coffee in our own cafes, online and via our wholesale partners.

The Opportunity

Small Batch Coffee Roasters have created an exciting new role to join our growing team as a National Account Manager. The role will focus primarily on new business acquisition as we look to develop and grow our wholesale and distribution partnerships across the UK.

The role will also be responsible for the daily management of our key portfolio partners and consulting their business on the best strategy to improve their customer satisfaction and increase their coffee volumes.

Working closely with Marketing, Roastery Operations and our Commercial team the new role will help shape the future of our B2B strategy and overcome challenges we’ll experience for the first time as a growing business.

Our roastery is based in Portslade, Brighton. As a small growing business our preference is the candidate will live in close proximity so they can regularly visit the team and use the roastery as their base for success.

What I need to do

  • Lead, develop and nurture a national active prospect pipeline that strategically fits our Small Batch Coffee Roasters strategy. Including HoReCa, premium foodservice distribution and speciality subscription business.
  • Regularly monitor and analyse the performance of our key portfolio partners. Ensuring the communication requirements of our partners are met.
  • Own the day-to-day lead/portfolio customer relationship through effective negotiation, influencing and challenge/risk management skills.
  • Have the confidence to make the necessary informed recommendations when required to support prospective new partners and customers.
  • Negotiate pricing changes, range, distribution and promotional activities to build the Small Batch Coffee Roasters brand within our customer portfolio.
  • Ensuring new coffee launches are communicated, activated and aligned to the brand plan with Marketing and our Head of Coffee.

Skills for the role:

  • Experienced National Account Manager with a minimum of 2-3 years experience.
  • Excellent experience in presenting and developing partnerships.
  • An eagerness to get involved in the roastery business and learn about what it takes to be a leading speciality coffee roaster. We want to grow an incredible team and for the National Account to be a part of that.
  • An understanding or background in the coffee industry is preferred.
  • Brilliant negotiation and networking are key - we want our National Account Manager to be well networked and visible at key industry events/shows.
  • Strong communication and the ability to multitask in a growing business that has a start-up mentality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with using CRM and using Social Media to engage with an industry network.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £45,000.00 per year
