The Role Description

The Account Manager role will sit in our Sales, Skills, and Marketing team. Whether you have a passion for customers, a flare for design or just love talking about Microsoft technology, our Sales, Skills and Marketing Team can provide you with the opportunity to flourish and do what you do best.

The sales account manager is a responsible for managing and developing relationships with the company's existing customers in order to increase sales and revenue. You will work to understand the customer's needs and identify new sales opportunities, while also ensuring that the customer is satisfied with the services provided. You will drive profitability, with a strong focus on new business in the form of day delivery and annuity.

The Sales Account Manager will have the exciting responsibility of working to develop, promote and drive sales with key clients and accounts. You will represent the front line of sales, spearheading new opportunities and expanding existing relationships. We are looking for someone who possesses a good understanding of sector and customer needs, and expertise when it comes to closing deals.

Overall, the sales account manager is responsible for retaining and growing the business of existing customers, and ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained.

Duties

  • Building and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
  • Identifying new sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Collaborating with other teams, such as marketing and the specialist team unit (STU), to ensure that customer needs are being met.
  • Negotiating deals and contracts with customers.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Providing regular reports on sales activity, pipeline, and forecast to management.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity to ensure that the company remains competitive.
  • Resolving customer complaints or issues in a timely manner.

Strategic accountabilities

  • Represent our company, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of your sector/industry.
  • Maximise the sales performance by establishing strong relationships and gaining insight to the needs and lifestyle of our clients.
  • Meet monthly, and annual sales and activity quotas.
  • Commit to customer service by building relationships.
  • Adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results in the field.
  • Qualify, develop, and maintain thorough company and service knowledge, research customer and prospect needs, and identify how our solutions can meet them.
  • Work with the Specialist team unit to design industry-specific outbound efforts.
  • Maintain alignment to risual sales framework and champion its use throughout the sales organisation.

Specific Role Requirements and Experience:

  • Experience in sales, preferably with a proven track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in managing and developing relationships with existing customers. This includes identifying new sales opportunities within existing accounts, and ensuring that customer needs are being met.
  • Experience and knowledge of the industry in which they are working, which will allow them to understand the needs and challenges of their customers and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, as they will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing customers, and negotiating deals and contracts.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to interpret data and reports to make informed decisions.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing customer needs and be able to come up with new strategies accordingly.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage their time and workload effectively, and be able to organise customer information and sales data in a clear and concise manner.
  • 2-4 years in sales within an IT System Integrator setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone, and organisational skills.
  • Experience selling across the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Ability to analyse business opportunities and read situations well.
  • Proven success rate at levels above quotas.
  • Strong organisational skills.

Overall, a sales account manager should have experience in sales, account management, and industry knowledge, coupled with strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Essential Criteria

To be successful in the role, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Must hold or be able to successfully achieve and maintain NPPV3 with SC.
  • Able to evidence excellent customer service skills
