Job description
The Head of Client Account Data for Securities Services reports directly to the Global Head of Client Account Services. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 300 staff responsible for setting-up and managing accounts across a range of Securities Services products.
Function Description:
The function collaborates with product leads, clients, internal technology groups, external FinTech platforms, agent banks and regulators to:
- Deliver a best-in-class client experience when creating and maintaining account reference data
- Provide expert information on local market requirements
- Direct standardization of documentation and technology, alongside industrialization of workflows to improve quality, increase productivity, and reduce time to market
Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Client Account Data for Securities Services leads a team that executes new and incremental client account reference data requests for the Custody, Depositary, IMOS, Collateral, and Fund Services businesses. They work closely with senior stakeholders up to and including J.P. Morgan Operating Committee level to:
Run a world class platform
- Develop a culture that focuses on quality, time-to-market, risk, and operational scale
- Enable data driven decisions via careful metric design, and effective communication
- Build a diverse and motivated team by attracting, retaining, and coaching excellent talent
- Propel the evolution and adoption of reference data strategies across the Securities Services business, in partnership with the senior leads in Product Management, Product Development, Technology, and the CIB Chief Data Office
Develop Excellent Stakeholder Relationships
- Establish influential relationships with clients and client servicing teams to further develop our industry leading platform
- Implement sound change governance to focus well controlled solutions executed at scale
- Optimise roles and responsibilities across the team and partner functions
Drive Technology Strategy
- Encourage the adoption of market leading reference data principles, machine learning, and metadata analysis
- Develop senior team members to identify strategic product design opportunities, and make decisions or influence stakeholders to prioritize change resources
- Instigate partnerships with trade bodies, FinTech partners, and regulators, to drive standardisation across the industry
Qualifications & skills
Key characteristics important in this role including:
- Highly effective, inclusive leader with a track record of delivering client solutions at scale
- Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate effective strategies to staff and stakeholders
- Deep knowledge of global CIB Securities Services and/or Markets product sets
- Expertise in reference data management, data analytics and storytelling with data
- Excellent delegation skills to manage urgent client matters, normal business, and strategic developments in parallel
