SCHOOL ACCOUNT MANAGER
Salary: £60,000 - £63,000
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri)
Location: Leicester, LE3 1HR

The PFI contract comprises schools and health buildings across the country and employs over 400 staff. This role would be based in the Leicester Schools PFI, covering four schools where G4S FM provides cleaning, mechanical and electrical systems, premises management and full Lifecycle.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join our team. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, however there is a requirement to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business. The role is primarily based from our offices at 3 Oswin Road, Leicester, LE3 1HR, but will cover all 4 school sites; The City of Leicester College, Crown Hills Community College, Soar Valley Community College and Judgemeadow Community College.
As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for operational delivery of all FM services to the 4 school buildings within the Leicester contract, ensuring that the service is delivered in accordance with all contracted standards & legislation, company policies and procedures such that all company employees, contractors and visitors comply. You will also manage risks identified within the service agreement contract and associated performance standards and specifications, including where appropriate whole life costs.
Responsibilities:
Manage the delivery of the services such that all aspects of the service delivery are continually monitored, measured and reviewed to ensure that the contract remains within the operational profit and loss (P & L) budget and the financial targets within the company business plan are achieved or exceeded.
Maintain an operational focus on: customer relationships, contract retention, service delivery, commercial performance, processes management and new business.
Oversee the recruitment, induction and employment of facilities operatives.
Support the on-going training programme to provide all technical and safety training as and when required for all colleagues.
Monitor and review all staff performance on an on-going basis and through the completion of the annual group and/or individual appraisal process. This includes issues on site such as suspensions, disciplinary actions, grievances, redundancies and absences.
Manage the wages to budget and ensure colleagues work to the correct number of hours. Oversee all monthly shift reports before processing to payroll.
Ensure that all machinery, tools, stock and materials storage areas are kept in a clean and tidy state.
Through audit, inspection and implementation of remedial works and or actions to ensure that the contract locations are a clean and safe environment for all staff and visitors.
Monitor and control agreed budgets and review with the Contract Management team at weekly meetings.
Exercise appropriate governance over systems to ensure complete data integrity for service delivery and transparency.
Chair monthly service reviews with service delivery managers and relevant sub-contractors.
To reduce spend levels by introducing innovative cost saving solutions.
To ensure efficient processes are in place for rechargeable billing, cost control and monthly reporting.
Maintain minimum levels of work in progress (non-billed works) in accordance with company guidelines.
Manage the P&L and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis with the commercial team.
Provide robust management of Purchase Orders.
Ensure that staff are cross-trained to provide short term cover for unplanned absences.
Review outputs and implement value added initiatives and efficiencies.
Prepare Account Director monthly operational report and monthly financial reports for submission within the required deadline.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential Criteria:
Min 5 + years Experience of operating school/public Buildings.
HNC /HND / Degree/MSc/MBA in; business/hospitality/hotel management, engineering or building/construction management.
BIFM Level 4-5.
ILM – Level 4-5.
IOSH/NEBOSH.
EFQM/6 Sigma.
Membership at appropriate level BIFM/HCIMA/IET/CIBSE/CIOB/IAM/IHEEM.
Record in contract management showing consistency and progression with appropriate levels of experience and responsibility and 5+ years experience in a similar role or environment.
Thorough understanding of facilities management methods, systems and safety requirements.
Management of a multi-disciplinary workforce.
Experience of identifying and implementing innovative cost effective solutions to operational problems.
Effective financial management skills.
Have full and thorough understanding of current Health & Safety and FM related legislation and compliance.
Evidence of continual professional development.
Full knowledge of client operational environment.
Knowledge of implementing and developing Quality Systems and related audit programmes.
