We’re looking for someone who wants to join the Cannes Lions 2023 Media Network of the Year and contribute to its ongoing success. The Publishing Team is one of the agency’s many stellar planning and buying departments, responsible for print and digital campaigns on behalf of practically every client in Mindshare’s vast account portfolio. The largest and busiest of these are Marks & Spencer – both its Clothing & Home and Food divisions – and Unilever but we’re also across Ford, Superdrug, Virgin Active, Tommy’s, TK Maxx, Tourism New Zealand, BP and many more. It’s fair to say we have our work cut out but it’s this variety that makes the work we do so rewarding. The Account Executive position focuses on supporting the Account Director and Business Director in the delivery of publishing campaigns for a variety of clients across different industry sectors. Responsible for strategically planning and activating print & digital media with some of the biggest players in the market – News UK (The Times and The Sun brands), MailMetroMedia, The Guardian & Reach plc (Mirror and Express brands) to name but a few – in order to extract the greatest value and best-performing activity for our clients to drive success for their businesses and our own. ABOUT YOU Passionate about the advertising industry: curious and hungry to learn and develop skills, experience and knowledge A ‘people person’ who can form strong relationships with clients, colleagues and our media partners Well-organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst maintaining focus on overarching campaign and business objectives A great communicator and team player who can multi-task and work to tight deadlines Experience using basic features of PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel e.g. creating and formatting PowerPoint presentations, sorting and filtering data, creating graphs and tables for responses to campaign briefs and post-campaign analyses OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the publishing media landscape with an emphasis on news brands and magazine publishers in print and digital Assist in all areas of day-to-day publishing campaign planning, buying and management to meet clients’ business objectives and KPI’s: from initial brief, constructing the plan, negotiating and buying print and digital media, monitoring and optimising campaigns through to review and evaluation stages Learn and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all publishing tools & systems, including Media Ocean, Prisma, eTelmar & AdIntel following in-depth training in each Pro-actively seek creative and innovative media solutions to achieve our ambition of achieving Good Growth for Mindshare and its clients Contribute to and present implementational plans and campaign results both internally and externally, working closely with other departments and disciplines across the agency and to assist our clients with future planning via clear and concise insights and recommendations Assist with management of all billing/invoicing requirements Ensure compliance with Mindshare / WPP anti-bribery guidelines CLIENT & CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT Ensure all client requests are met and, where possible, exceeded, whilst effectively managing expectations throughout Develop and demonstrate an understanding of client industry sectors, their competitors and be able to converse about how we can collaborate to support its future business goals and prospects, building strong relationships in the process and informing them about how publishing can benefit their media channel selection Ensure proper process is followed in relation to SOX compliance and plan approval/purchase order receipt before campaigns go live SKILLS & BUILDING CLIENT & MEDIA PARTNER RELATIONSHIPS Establish an understanding of how publishing fits into the overall marketing mix Develop collaborative relationships with other Mindshare departments such as Connections Planning to deliver an integrated service to clients Become aware and conversant of all deal parameters and priorities within both Mindshare and GroupM and their effect on planning/buying targets Work collaboratively with and support the Account Director and Business Director to ensure all department, agency and client objectives are met Managing and prioritising own workload but remaining flexible to support colleagues and clients on adhoc tasks and projects when required Develop strong relationships with media owners and an understanding of their businesses and challenges Develop relationships with external partners ie creative agencies as part of successful campaign delivery and completion WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU A strong salary commensurate and in-line with relevant experience 25 days annual leave and your birthday day off Continuous internal and external training opportunities, which are the very best in the market Ongoing line-manager feedback and an annual appraisal to evaluate performance Flexible working The opportunity to attend industry conferences and events including awards ceremonies Private Healthcare Excellent pension matching structure ABOUT MINDSHARE Mindshare is a leading global marketing and media services network with billings in excess of £23billion worldwide.
