Job Purpose and Background in summary
CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual with keen interest in environmental reporting and transparency to support CDP’s corporate engagement work in our Corporate Engagement and Reporter Services team in London. This role represents an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to progress their career in sustainability, or for someone looking to move into corporate sustainability from the NGO perspective.
Initially you will join the the Corporate Engagement team, who facilitate the company journey for thousands of companies globally from their first response to making bold environmental commitments and beyond. In this role, you will support the delivery of CDP’s global corporate engagement strategy and will also undertake direct engagement with companies from a broad range of sectors across all thematic programs (climate, forests and water security). You will work closely with global teams across the organisation to ensure a smooth experience for companies reporting through the CDP platform.
Then you will transition to Account Executive, Reporter Services. Here you will work with member companies to accelerate CDP’s mission and motivate these global multinationals to limiting climate change, improving water stewardship, and banning deforestation from direct corporate business practices.
You will need advanced knowledge of environmental issues and be able to get up to speed quickly with large amounts of technical CDP environmental reporting requirements across multiple sectors & geographies. You will need excellent analytical and interpersonal skills to be able to easily understand company’s needs, tailor membership delivery and identify opportunities to pitch products/services.
The account executive role covers corporates from UK and Worldwide (WW) WW is defined as companies from regions not covered by other CDP offices or partners (e.g. Turkey, Middle East, Africa). The Reporter Services team sits within the wider CDP Corporates and Supply Chain (CSC) team.

Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake active engagement with high-priority companies to encourage and support their disclosure to CDP on Climate change, forests, and water security
- Maintenance and use of data in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Managing up to 20 corporate Reporter Services member accounts headquartered in UK and WW region.
- Delivering the membership benefits for your corporate member accounts, including question-level gap analysis exercises of CDP climate change, forests and/or water security disclosures, data analysis & peer benchmarking and tracking delivery of these set membership benefits.
- Securing renewal and income of these existing members and cultivate new Reporter Services membership sign-up and income.
- Deepening relationships and generate further leads and referrals for relevant opportunities with additional CDP membership options for supply chain engagement, partnerships, or commitments to leadership initiatives (SBTs, RE100).
- Coordinating CDP communications to your corporate member accounts.
- Record keeping of membership, invoicing, company & contact information through client relationship management systems.
- Supporting and managing projects across global Reporter Services program areas, such as product development, marketing and sales, member communications and/or events.
- Supporting and managing projects across regional CSC team for regional events and webinars, communications, and business development.
- Representing CDP as a subject matter expert through networking and speaking engagements at sustainability and sector-related conferences.
- Ad-hoc tasks where it may be required.
You will have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria:
- Minimum BA/BSc degree (environment, geography, economics preferred).
- Keen interest in environmental corporate reporting and disclosure.
- Ability to grow our membership base through experience in leading or supporting membership sales.
- Advanced knowledge of environmental sustainability issues specifically related to climate change, water security and/or commodity linked deforestation.
- Proven experience in account management, business development and sales.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills, with ability to interact convincingly with people at different levels of seniority and different cultural backgrounds.
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills – both at strategic and operational levels.
- High attention to detail and advanced analytical and technical skills.
- Ability to work and meet deadlines under pressure, with shifting timelines and/or priorities.
- Flexibility, be resourceful and hold creative problem-solving.
- Knowledge of client relationship management.
- Very good Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel, ideally including macro programming or interest to master such skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Willingness to travel if required.
This is a full time role based at CDP’s London office reporting to Senior Manager, Reporter Services, UK&WW.
Salary and benefits: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
