Job description
- Principal Tasks
- Handling a mixture of Commercial Property & Casualty renewals and midterm adjustments
- Liaise with producing brokers & intermediaries [clients] to understand their clients demands and needs
- Communicate with underwriters and the placing brokers to deliver appropriate solutions and placement strategies resulting in successful retention of their business
- Monitor your renewal retention and identify any concerns which may result in lost business
- Assist your peers, when required, to ensure the team achieve high retention rates
- Provide guidance & subject matter expertise to clients
- Maintain and build relationships with key clients and identify new opportunities
- Maintain clear, accurate and comprehensive files
- Adhere to and promote compliance (FCA, TCF, GDPR) requirements
- Mentoring, tuition & guidance to Account Handlers
- Work closely with the Account Handler(s) to ensure efficient processing and administrative requirements are met
2. Secondary Tasks – working closely with Account Handlers
- Preparing market submissions and placing documentation
- Producing policy documentation, certificates, and midterm endorsements
- Raising invoices / debit notes and London Market closings
- Coordinate survey requests and communicate any requirements raised
3. Responsibilities
- Take instructions from existing clients, ensuring cover commences at the correct time, all relevant paperwork is completed, premium is collected, and relevant records and diary entries are created.
- Offer renewal of existing clients’ policies with existing insurer or move to new insurer, as appropriate.
- Check thoroughly all client documentation before despatch, ensuring queries are raised and amendments completed
- Control your own diary system, ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates, particularly in relation to outstanding documentation from clients or insurers, premium payments and survey matters
- Provide back up to the team and Department Manager by taking responsibility of the renewal list and maintaining MI stats
- Ensure accurate data is maintained to produce bordereau and MI reports
- Assist in compiling and contribute toward the monthly management report
- Any general duties that may be required by your Manager in accordance with the nature of this job.
4. Generic Knowledge Requirements
- Sufficient knowledge of UK Commercial Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance
- Good working knowledge of the Underwriters and London markets
- Good working knowledge of the UK regulatory requirements and relevant insurance and UK regulatory requirements
