Accounts Apprentice

We will train you to become a multi skilled member of the finance team. To provide a customer focused, responsive service to the group.
As this is an Apprentice role, you will be required to undertake studies towards the successful completion of the AAT Level 2 Certificate and Level 3 Diploma in Accounting. We will fully support you to achieve this and provide additional on the job learning which will help develop you further.
The Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager and based at Head Office Calder Park Wakefield. The role will include various accounting duties with the aim to develop and have more responsibility during your apprenticeship.
Duties / Areas of responsibility:
The position will cover a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Dealing with the daily correspondence and queries from stores.
- Answering customer phone calls and resolving queries.
- Processing customer refunds.
- Checking and paying expenses for employees.
- Ad hoc accounting tasks.
- Assist the credit control officer with all credit account related duties.
Ideal skills:
- The candidate will need to have a good aptitude for numbers.
- Experience of using Excel is essential.
- We have our own bespoke IT system, which runs alongside Sage 200, so competency in information technology is essential.
- An ability to be discreet, diplomatic, reliable, and trustworthy.
- The candidate will be dealing with both suppliers and valued customers, so good communication skills and an ability to prioritise is important.
- Customer service skills are of high importance.

Note: This position is an apprenticeship role, designed to provide hands-on experience and training in various aspects of accounting. The apprentice will work closely with experienced professionals to develop skills and knowledge in the field.
