The Account Director is responsible for profitably retaining, developing and growing the Wales and South West region’s most valuable and complex customer accounts. As an exemplar within the BT sales community, you’ll agree strategic account development plans to achieve desired results on behalf of your customers. You’ll build, motivate, and lead virtual teams within BT, your customer, and external partners, to deliver excellent customer experience. You’ll demonstrate leadership behaviours and play an active part in supporting your manager and mentoring junior colleagues.
What you’ll be doing
  • Achieves and exceeds sales goals, maximising profit for BT, transparently managing risk and issue resolution/escalation, resulting in exemplary customer satisfaction and increased Net Promoter Score within your accounts.
  • Nurtures exemplary multi-layer relationships with customers, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of their business and decision-making process, right across their business to add value and exceptional engagement, becoming a trusted and valued partner.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the customer’s requirements, creating a transformational roadmap defined within robust and actionable Account Development Plans, accurately describing the competitive landscape and how BT is positioned within it.
  • Gracefully leads virtual team, ensuring all members (internal and external) understand their responsibilities, and deliver against your Account Plans
  • Takes responsibility for own personal development, to ensure fully conversant with the whole portfolio and can sell a value proposition.
What we'd like to see from you
  • Proven sales experience, with significant experience negotiating and selling high-value services and contracts at board level.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills with both internal and external partners.
  • A high level of commercial acumen.
  • The ability to work under pressure, whilst gracefully motivating your aligned team to deliver.
  • A never-ending commit to learn and understand more about BT, your customers, and the market, whilst willingly supporting junior team members in their development.
