About The Role

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Additional Payments: 20% Flexibility Payment

This role is subject to -

BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance - this post is subject to BPSS checks. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We are seeking to recruit an Accommodation Support Worker to work within our Temporary Accommodation to rehouse homeless families who require intense support around rehousing back into the community.

This service is part of a wider team offering temporary accommodation to families. The wider team consists of 16 Accommodation Support Workers over three sites covering homeless families. The management structure consists of two Homeless Lead Officers and one Team Leader.

Ten Accommodation support workers are based at Willowbank offering 24/7 support. Security is onsite at throughout the night shifts.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, team player who understands the problems faced by homeless families inclusive of families fleeing DV&A, suffering with mental health issues/drug and alcohol issues and is committed to providing a high-quality support service.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a service that makes a genuine difference to people’s lives and is at the forefront of developing services to meet the more complex support needs associated with homelessness.

About the Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, team player who understands the problems faced by homeless families inclusive of families fleeing DV&A, suffering with mental health issues.
You will be able to work well within a team as well as manage your diary to be able to lone work when required.
You will be able to work shifts and be flexible to the role.
You should have a good understanding of the challenges and reasons as to homelessness.
