Salary: £30,516 - £33,182 per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week (additional out of hours duty as per rota)
Base Location: Working from home and any CBC offices, including Priory House, Shefford. You will be expected to attend a CBC office location on a monthly basis, and as needed to carry out your role
Contract Type: Hybrid; Secondment/ Fixed Term - 12 Months

Private Lettings
It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. The Housing Service is a self-contained business that manages and maintains some 5,200+ Council-owned homes with a growing Private Sector Property Management Portfolio. Find your greatness as an Accommodation Services Officer. The team provides a wide range of services for the management of Licensees/Private Tenants, our aim is to help residents sustain their licence, find permanent accommodation and avoid long term homelessness.
Day to day you will ensure effective delivery of housing management and Landlord service to private tenants, managing a range of private sector properties and their tenancies, managing lettings allocations across private housing providers as well as processing financial assistance for applicants to the private rented sector. This will include the health & safety of residents/visitors, enforcement of the tenancy conditions, rent collection and ensuring that properties we manage are safe and clean.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone ideally with experience into a lettings/ property management role & who is motivated and focused on providing a first-class service to our Landlords and tenants. You will be able to demonstrable the ability to make clear decisions under pressure using evidence, sound judgment and experience. You will be someone who works across boundaries to better understand customer perspective and seeks out customer insight to shape decisions. You will be someone who puts the customer at the heart of everything they do & embeds equality and diversity in all aspects of service delivery. You will be able to stay calm and focused under pressure and in volatile situations.
You must have up to date knowledge of Housing Legislation, including anti-social behaviour and enforcement options. Ideally you will be educated to Level 4 standard, but equally important are the skills you already have and the experience you can bring to the role, alongside your willingness to learn and adapt to changing demands and manage your time.
