We're currently recruiting for Accommodation Officers to join our Independent Living function as we set up a new operational team. This is a great opportunity for people-focused individuals who are looking to develop their skills within Housing.
This role will be based at Eagle House in Stafford, which offers temporary accommodation for single people aged 18-64 who are facing homelessness. Please note, we have both permanent and temporary roles available.
As an Accommodation Officer you will be on the front-line in our services. You will be directly dealing with our customers, helping and guiding them towards successfully sustaining their own tenancy.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide a well-rounded Housing Management service, overseeing allocations and lettings as well as tenancy management.
- Carry out Building Safety Checks and an ensure the buildings' security.
- Liaise with the assets team in relation to any repairs which need carrying out.
- Monitor on-site contractors completing works.
- Provide support to customers with benefit claims, budgeting, move-on plans etc.
- Help promote an independent lifestyle to our customers.
Our ideal candidate? You will be a people-focused individual with previous experience in customer facing roles. You will be dealing with vulnerable individuals so it's important you are resillient and are able to deal with challenging circumstances. Finally, we are looking for someone who is keen to learn and develop their skills within Housing.
