Job description
- Support the Accommodation Services Manager with being the first point of call for all accommodation enquiries.
- In the absence of the Accommodation Services Manager, make room bookings, liaise with guests and students, make changes to the occupancy using StarRez.
- Inventory management of each accommodation; recommending and ordering new furniture.
- Undertaking regular accommodation inspections with the Cleaning Supervisor or Accommodation Services Manager.
Essential skills and abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Understanding of what constitutes good customer service.
- Excellent communication skills with a variety of audiences. This includes a very good level of spoken and written English to communicate effectively.
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Proven track record in general administration or property management
- Sound knowledge of H&S. Including Safe Working Procedures, Risk Assessing etc.
- Excellent IT skills with experience of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and accommodation software tools.
- Committed, reliable with excellent attention to detail
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to maintain composure and goodwill in demanding situations
- Attention to detail, particularly in maintaining records for statutory obligations.
- To exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Fitness and mobility is required to walk and cycle between sites on a regular basis. Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
- Willingness to undertake work not always relevant to the department.
- Enjoys a challenge and can work well under pressure.
Desirable
- Ability to learn and use StarRez accommodation package, BusinessSafe health and safety database and SITS, the University student records software.
- Track record of improving/implementing IT systems for accommodation management
- Working knowledge of tenancy and regulations in relation to letting of accommodation.
