Job description
Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) is a government-led partnership which provides advice that enables farmers to reduce pollution and manage flood risk. We currently undertake a robust monitoring and modelling programme to evaluate the impact of CSF (http://publications.naturalengland.org.uk/publication/4538826523672576) and are developing an air quality assessment to compliment this evaluation. The intern will work with air quality leads in both Environment Agency and Natural England to compile and review ammonia air quality monitoring data, and modelled background ammonia concentrations.
The aim of this work is to investigate and interpret ammonia data sets.
The intern, in discussion with Environment Agency staff, will be able to decide the focus and depth of this work in the following areas:
a) spatial analysis of ammonia concentration, and correlation with land use, CSF uptake, and water quality
b) monitoring data analysis- which could include analysis using Open Air Software.
