Job description
- Performs advising functions within the Student Services Office.
- Assists with student registration, retention, and progress toward graduation.
- Assists with other student support service duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Experience in advising, counseling, orientation, student services, or science related field at a University or College level.
Specialization in Higher Education Administration or Student Affairs.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Work experience with or an undergraduate educational background in Sciences is highly desirable.
General knowledge of College and University degree requirements.
Experience with student database software and degree audit software, prior use of Banner/DARS.
Experience in academic advisement, particularly working with first-generation, non-traditional, veterans or underprepared students.
Knowledge of basic advising/counseling techniques, student development, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Experience working directly with undergraduate students in a higher education setting.
Must be adaptable in a fast-pasted environment and have ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
Web design and social media knowledge a plus.
Final candidate will be required to have official, sealed transcripts and original NACES evaluation, if applicable, sent from their educational institution to Human Resources prior to the start of employment.
Successful completion of a background check, which may include a motor vehicle check, credit check, fingerprinting or additional screening, is required for the selected candidate prior to the start date.
