Academic Administrative Officer
Salary Grade 5 £ 28,131 - £ 33,348
The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division are looking to appoint an Academic Administrative Officer
to support policy development work and quality assurance requirements within the Division. The post will
provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience of taught degrees administration and to develop a career in
university administration in one of the UK’s leading universities.
The successful applicant will be part of the division’s Academic Office, reporting to the Assistant Registrar
(Education). Key tasks involve academic quality assurance, drafting changes to regulations, supporting
divisional committees, and coordinating consultations with academic colleagues.
The postholder plays a key role in coordinating the divisional Bridging programme, which provides both residential and online support for
undergraduate students to make the transition to study at degree level, with priority given to students from
educationally or socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The postholder’s work will provide experience of working with policies, procedures, and University regulations, along with working with central databases and systems. Liaison with academic departments, and with other parts of the central University administration is an
important part of the job.
We are looking for someone with good organisational skills and communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail. The post holder will be required to work independently without close supervision.
The Division is open to hybrid working, however most of the time is expected to be on site to deliver the Bridging programme.

This is a fixed-term position until 12th June 2024 offered on a 0.8 FTE basis.
