We are looking for charismatic, self-motivated Abbey Assistant to join our team. Working in a high-pressured environment you must be a hardworking, team player with enthusiasm for delivering excellence.
Abbey Assistants can be a front facing role whose duties include delivering the daily program, engaging with visitors throughout the site, cleaning and maintenance, repair work, duty management, event support as well as operating the gift shop.
Applicants will thrive on delivering consistently excellent customer service. They will be energetic, enthusiastic and will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. As well as being a team player, applicants should be flexible and self-motivating with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Your role is also to maintain the cleanliness of the building and also support the safety of our visitors, The job includes regular lifting, carrying and checking paperwork. In addition there will be opportunities for delivering activities, educational sessions and helping with exhibitions and café.
This is a varied role with changing priorities from each shift. You may find yourself doing anything needed to keep the attraction running smoothly. Applicants should not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Servicing the café with high standard customer service
- Opening up the site ready for the day ahead, unlocking house and gardens
- Cleaning and maintenance of public facilities and keeping an eye out for any issues, resolving them or reporting them to the operations team
- Set up of events, rearranging furniture, resetting the museum
- Ensure the exhibition space is kept tidy and maintain the excellent appearance of the area - polishing handrails and dusting the exhibition information stations etc.
- Maintaining a clean working environment whilst adhering to health & safety standards.
- Professional and efficient service of prepared food and drink, whilst ensuring the final quality.
- Taking orders with accuracy and efficiency.
- Answering and managing guests queries and comments effectively and helping to resolve any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Working with the onsite team to create a smoothly run service each day.
Job Type: Zero hours contract
Contract length: 60 months
Salary: £8.00-£10.42 per hour
