We are an ambitious and growing team, working across our audit and accounts, tax, corporate finance, bookkeeping, VAT and admin departments. UHY Manchester has Xero Platinum Status and are QuickBooks Online Elite partners which will give you extensive exposure to cloud accounting.

The Role

We are looking for non-graduates (or current AAT students with a couple of years’ experience in an accountancy setting) to join our training program which equips you to provide a range of accounts and business services to a diverse client base ranging from small businesses to substantial groups.

On-the-job training and studying towards your professional qualification will enable you to gain a full understanding of the technical aspects of accountancy and additional financial advisory services. • Discuss queries with client staff, obtaining relevant information and explanations
  • Resolve queries
  • Obtain an understanding of related services such as Corporate and Personal Tax through on-the-job and structured training
  • Attend a range of internal training sessions including industry specific and soft skills training
  • Communicate in a professional manner with clients

  • Enjoy working effectively as part of a team
  • Be dedicated and motivated to studying towards the AAT qualification
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Have a high level of general commercial awareness

Preferred academic requirements:

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at a minimum of grade 5
  • We do understand the challenge of achieving consistently high academic results so we are open to meeting applicants who believe they have what it takes to be successful at our firm despite having grades outside these requirements
