Level 2 Apprenticeship in Engineering (NI) – Manufacturing Apprentice, Belfast

What you will be doing:
This is an exciting opportunity to start an engineering apprenticeship with a team of like-minded people, working on some of the most cutting edge technologies and products offered by Thales UK today. This apprenticeship will suit those candidates who are serious about committing to an apprenticeship of learning and development.
This is a trainee post, which on successful completion, will lead to recognition and classification as skilled personnel.
All trainees will complete a common first year in manufacturing operations which will include work based learning to develop the skills necessary to achieve performance levels in the production of components and assemblies consistent with the required quality standards and the Master Production Schedule.
It is anticipated that during the second and third year, trainees will define their core skills area within the spectrum of manufacturing activities. The skill areas anticipated to be required are Mechanical assembly, electrical assembly and manufacturing machining. Skill definition will be based on trainee performance during their first year, and matched to the business requirements at that time
The Programme:
As a Manufacturing Apprentice you will undertake a Level 2 Engineering Apprenticeship (NI) at South Eastern Regional College , working towards a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering .
You will then have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship to achieve the BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
You will be given a study day each week, alongside your day-to-day role as a Manufacturing Apprentice.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. A self-starter who is able to manage their time, show initiative and has a genuine interest in manufacturing and Thales. Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve the qualification.
You will also need:
5 GCSEs grade A-C or Level 4-9, including Maths and English.
Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
Please note, assessment centres for shortlisted candidates will be held on Tuesday 21st February 2023. Induction week for all Graduate and Apprentices will commence on Monday 4th September until Friday 8th September 2023.

All apprentices require full Security Clearance in line with United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) requirements - to gain clearance you will typically need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of 12 months. As part of this process you will be asked to provide evidence of your identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history.
