Advanced Analytics at Barclays
This is an opportunity to work with really big data – data concerning up to 24m customers – and it’s what makes our work so challenging, interesting and rewarding. We’ll help you gain technical skills, including programming, modelling and visualising data using sophisticated market-leading platforms and tools. We’ll also support you to develop important consulting skills, such as understanding and solving problems, turning your insights into actions, and presenting data-driven findings to stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for delivering hypothesis-driven analysis on a range of data sources across key business issues relating to Barclays’ customers, markets, products and channels. You’ll also be using Data Science and Machine Learning to deliver analytical ‘deep dives’ and create data assets that drive the performance of the bank, enabling smarter, faster, and more proactive decision making across BUK.
Are you eligible?
First, you’ll need the right qualifications. For the Advanced Analytics Apprenticeship programme in England, you need 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at BBB (including one STEM subject).
Beyond that, you'll have a natural interest in data and finance. You’ll be curious and creative, agile and adaptable, with a highly analytical mind. You’ll be ready to develop the technical skills you need for the job, and be great at communicating and collaborating. Motivated by pace and pressure, you’ll be driven to achieve and always search for the best solution. You’ll also be ready to develop a deep understanding of what we do, why we do it, and how your role impacts on our business outcomes.
